My grandmother learned to play the piano at 80. It was something she has always wanted to learn, so she decided at EIGHTY FREAKING YEARS OLD to learn. She found a teacher, she practiced daily and she crushed her damn goal.
And I don’t know who needs to hear this today (besides me) but this is for you.
That thing you’ve been wanting to do? That class you want to take, the blog you want to create, that business you want to start..... the dream you want to chase-whatever it is, it’s a good idea.
You can do it. Whatever the thing is. However old you are. However late it feels. You can do it. If grandma could do it at 80, you can do it now.
So go do it. And I will too.
Anyone else an obsessive list maker? I am constantly hand writing lists and notes, these are just some of the journals I make notes in every single day. Each one has its purpose (goal tracking, gratitude journal, class notes, etc.) and they all live in different spots in my house.
Writing by hand seems old school but here’s why I still do it- it stimulates a collection of cells at the base of your brain knows as Reticular Activating System (RAS). RAS is the filter for all of the information that your brain needs to process and it literally triggers your brain to PAY ATTENTION. That’s why you remember something that you’ve written down better than something you made a “mental note” of.
Ok, that’s enough science for today.
I tagged my favorite notebooks on instagram with where I bought them (SPIRAL BOUND TIL I DIE) and my pen collection comes from my travels all over the world (Thailand has the best pens, super fine point!).

Creating space is one of the single most important things you can do for yourself. What is creating space? It means clearing the things out of your life that no longer serve you to make room for new things that do. Sometimes those things are things, sometimes they are thoughts, sometimes they are even people.
Let me put it this way, you would try to move a brand new couch into your house without first getting rid of your old one, right? It would be way too cluttered! You’ve got to make space for new stuff!
Creating space sounds scary and can feel like a huge undertaking so I always like to take it one step at a time. Start by creating some digital space for yourself today- unfollow at least one account that you compare yourself to, delete at least one number from your phone of someone who should no longer take up space in your phone and delete at least one photo that’s hanging around in your camera roll that shouldn’t be there.
Notice how this makes you feel and...
Here’s the annoying truth.....
Love does not find you when you are looking for it. Love comes to you when you least expect it.
I KNOW how annoying the cliche is. Believe me, I’ve been there. But I want to challenge you to stop looking and focus that energy on yourself for ONE month. Just one. And watch how your life changes. ONE month, for YOU. Turn your focus inwards.
Need help? I’m here! I’ve been on the journey and I found the love of my life on the other side. I committed to being my most authentic self and he came out of nowhere. Set up a call with me today! I want to help guide you.
Its 2019 and we live in the most high tech, fast paced world in history. We’ve become accustomed to filling the eeriness of silence with fluff. We turn to distractions to of escaping feelings of idleness or boredom. Endless scrolling on instagram, clicking mindlessly through Netflix or Youtube to find something to numb out with. But the main thing we wish to elude is loneliness. But heres the thing my friend…. aloneness does not have to alienating or lonesome. In fact, aloneness and loneliness are distinctly separate.
We tend to fill loneliness with all types of distractions. Some people would rather spend a Friday night on a date with a person they have no genuine interest in, than spend the night alone. They’re literally killing time while they await the one they actually want. All they are doing is filling the space where they could be learning to be comfortable alone with a fruitless activity. And like the great RuPaul says, if you cant love...
